Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge is located in Nkuringo sector found in southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park a world UNESCO site hosting half of the world’s population of the endangered mountain gorillas and other primates, Nkuringo is part of the four sectors of Bwindi Buhoma, Ruhija, and Rushaga. It is known for the famous Nkuringo family providing the best gorilla experience to many visitors coming to trek gorillas in Uganda.
The lodge is 2100m way from the beautiful panoramic views of the magnificent Virunga volcanoes and the great rift valley with over 500 species of birds around the premises of Nkuringo, a variety of primates for example l’hoest monkey, black and white colobus monkey, are present together with the mountain gorillas. The Nkuringo family home range is approximately one and half hours beginning from the lodge. It typically depends on how far the gorilla family has moved. It may take shorter or longer hours, one has a chance to track the five gorilla families in Rushaga because these two sectors are close to each other in the southern part of the impenetrable forest.

Clouds is a family run business that was intended to have something new and extra add to the area that is known more for its beautiful flora and fauna. The main lodge consists of reception, lounge, dining area, and balcony, cuisines are international and excellent with a lead service team providing the best services to customers.
Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge guests stay in large cottages built in volcanic stones each with a big sitting room, double sided fire place, warm arm chairs, carpets and comfortable bedrooms within the suites that give a perfect beautiful stay the facility has 5 cottages and 2 family cottages with fresh water the room capacity is up to 18 guests in the 7 rooms.
The lodge is a community conservation project established as partnership between wild places, African wildlife foundation, the international gorilla conservation program and the Nkuringo local community. The lodge employs 43 full time local staff working closely with the Batwa community involving clients in cultural tourism the pygmy experiences traditional dances, songs, cultures and ways of the forest keepers.
To track gorillas, children have to be above 15 years of age, however the lodge welcomes families with any stage of children, they can actually organize children’s games as their parents go to track. Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge is open throughout the year, best visited during the dry season.it is approximately 8 hours’ drive from Entebbe chatter flights can be organized to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
