Chobe Safari Lodge is a holding of Marasa Africa occupying a prime location in Murchison Falls National Park Uganda’s oldest and largest conservation area protecting the magnificent Murchison Falls and several animal species and birds that call this park home. The lodge is a perfect retreat for any discerning traveller and was originally constructed in the 1950s at the time it was one of the jewels in Uganda’s crown of tourism the beautiful river Nile together with the flora and fauna remarks the lodge. After a time of abandoning the lodge, Chobe Safari Lodge gained excellence offering the best luxurious and comfortable accommodation.

It is beautifully made with the best interior design themed to the African style with 36 elegant guest rooms, 4 suites, twenty-one luxury tents and a presidential cottage. The rooms and the luxury tents have balconies facing the river Nile amounting to magnificent views of the park at a distance.
The main lodge comprises of a beautiful wood crafted reception, business center, lounge, a gym with one of the greatest views of the Nile, an outdoor swimming pool best of all the five star facilities in Uganda, a restaurant with a terrace serving the best Ugandan and international cuisines together with a great service team going an extra mile to ensure their guest satisfaction is met. The craft shop at the entrance of the reception brings you to an entire African set up, where you can purchase handmade crafts for souvenirs back home.
The lodge offers activities that one can participate these include birding, fishing along the banks of River Nile. Guides take the guest to various fishing spots provide them with the correct fishing gear and assistance on catching the fish all fish caught are released back to the water. Hiking and nature walks guided by an experienced game ranger arranged for 1 or 3 hours.
It is recommendable for visitors to wear boots preferably ankle height, insect repellants, and a bottle of water during the hike, water proof cover for phones and cameras, boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, picnics and game drives to the northern part of the park for its high animal populations. Animals to be spotted include; elephants, hippos, impala, water bucks, bush bucks, oribi. On a lucky day you may find lions or leopards.
The lodge lies within the park therefore one has to remember a fee to the Uganda Wildlife Authority of 40 dollars for park entrance fee to foreign nonresidents, 30,000 shillings’ vehicle entrance and 20,000 shillings for residents. The park is accessible all year round but best during the dry season of December to February, late June to September.
Chobe is located in northern Uganda in Murchison Falls National Park approximately 4 hours’ drive from Kampala, and 15minutes from the park entrance to the lodge.
